A FREE DAY OF FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY

Worldwide Free Comic Book Day Comes to Enfield with Comics for All Ages!

Matt’s Sportscards and Comics is one of thousands of comic book shops around the world celebrating the biggest day in the comic book industry and comic art form, Saturday, May 2nd. On Free Comic Book Day, over 5.6 million comic books will be given away by participating stores, introducing as many people as possible to the wonders of comic books!

“With more than 40 free titles to chose from, you can be assured of finding something for all tastes and ages,” said Matt DeRoma, owner of Matt’s Sportscards and Comics, a family-owned hobby shop that has been serving Enfield for over 28 years.

Celebrating its fourteenth year, Free Comic Book Day has proven to be a smashing success, spreading the word that comics are a terrific read. “Come for the free comics, stay for the exciting family-friendly activities going on all day. We will have an art show as well as free sketches provided by local artists, arcade games, costume contests, door prizes, family fun challenges, free food, live musical performances, live game shows and much more. And at the end of the day you can even shove a pie in my face. Admission to the activities is free, although we are humbly asking people to please bring a canned item for our food drive.”

“Events like this give us a chance to give something back to the community,” DeRoma continued. “Free comic books, free artist sketches and a chance to donate to a great cause – it’s a day of giving on both sides and we hope to make this year better than the last.”

Regular updates, information about comic books, and a list of participating publishers and their free comics are all online at www.freecomicbookday.com.
