Funding Approved For Enfield Waste Water Treatment Plant Upgrade
The town will receive just over $2.5 million for the upgrade project.

ENFIELD, CT — The town of Enfield has been approved for a grant which will be used to upgrade the town's waste water treatment plant.
At a meeting of the State Bond Commission Tuesday, Enfield received funding of $2,501,495 for the project.
“One of my immediate priorities was to secure this funding and I am proud to have worked with Rep. Carol Hall and Sen. John Kissel to make this possible," Rep. Tom Arnone said in a statement. "It is crucial we make upgrades that strengthen our infrastructure and improve our environmental well-being.”

According to a 1990 agreement between the state and the town, the state is responsible for a share of capital project costs based on the calculated percentage of use by the correctional complex to Enfield waste water treatment.
