Central Connecticut State University, New Britain CT
- Central Connecticut State University Office of Veterans Affairs hosted its annual Veterans Day commemoration and awards ceremony on Nov. 9 at Alumni Hall. Following the presentation of the colors by the Army National Guard, Central student and U.S. Army Specialist Daniel Duggan of Enfield received the Student Veteran Award For Excellence and Scholarship. Duggan’s military awards include the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and Army Service Ribbon. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in robotics and mechatronics at Central.

- Fifteen Eastern Connecticut State University students made the long drive to Mahwah, NJ, this October to present research on topics ranging from history to coding at the Council of Public Liberal Arts Colleges (COPLAC) Northeastern Conference. Among the students was senior English major Marcus Grant of Enfield, who presented his work titled "Free in Body and Spirit: Spectral Liberation of Objectified Peoples in Victorian and Neo-Victorian Literature." His research followed the narrative of ghost stories and haunting from the nineteenth to the twenty-first century.
Hofstra University, Hempstead NY
- Sabrina Juhasz of Enfield achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA during the fall 2023 semester, earning a spot on the Provost's List at Hofstra University. Sabrina's major is art history.

- Tori Geaglone of Enfield earned her second consecutive All-Northeast 10 field hockey honor by making the second team, after being named to the third team in 2022. She was also named to the 2023 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) NCAA Division II Senior Team.This season, Geaglone finished the year with 12 goals and five assists for 29 points as well as totaling five defensive saves. Geaglone, the Owls top midfielder and catalyst of the Owls' offense, while also the central part of the Owls' special teams unit, also totaled nine goals and five assists for 23 points in 13 NE10 games with three defensive saves. She finished the season ranked sixth nationally in defensive saves, 13th with 1.31 points per game and 15th with 0.71 goals per contest. She finished her career with 16 goals and eight assists for 40 points, as well as nine defensive saves.
Southern New Hampshire University, Manchester NH
- A dozen students from Enfield were named to the fall 2023 President's List. They are Alyssa Dowding , Devin Ritchings, Michael Wayner, Dylan Sherman, Linsey Klich, Cynthia Barry, Savannah Waters, Melandra Orgill, Kayla Moore, Tiffany Lubanski, Hector Quero and Elizabeth Wallace. Full-time undergraduate students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.700 and above for the reporting term are named to the President's List. Full-time status is achieved by earning 12 credits over each 16-week term or paired 8-week terms grouped in fall, winter/spring, and summer.
- Raef Kubie and Kristina Mammano, both of Enfield, were named to the fall 2023 Dean's List. Full-time undergraduate students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.500 to 3.699 for the reporting term are named to the Dean's List. Full-time status is achieved by earning 12 credits over each 16-week term or paired 8-week terms grouped in fall, winter/spring, and summer.
Western Carolina University, Cullowhee NC
- Kerstyn Bassett of Enfield was named to the Western Carolina University fall 2023 Dean's List. To qualify for this honor, students must earn a GPA of 3.5 or higher while completing a minimum of 12 credit hours.
Western New England University, Springfield MA
- Enfield resident Alyzza Alicea is a Peer Advisor for the 2023-2024 academic year at Western New England University. Peer Advisors are a group of highly selected and comprehensively trained students dedicated to helping first-year and transfer students throughout their transition to Western New England. Peer Advisors undergo more than 150 hours of training in order to better support first-year and transfer students. Each first-year student is assigned a Peer Advisor who serves as a source of information, point of first contact, and conduit to university programs and support services. Peer Advisors work during the summer and academic year to assist new students in the formation of their personal success plans and act as an advocate for student success. The personal success plans provide new students with a framework for establishing specific, measurable, reasonable, realistic, and timely goals for the first year at the University. Alicea is working toward a BA in psychology.
