Hazardville Firefighter Jason Carlton Promoted to Lieutenant
Jason Carlton, a firefighter with the Hazardville Fire Department, was promoted to Lieutenant at a Badge Pinning Ceremony on June 5.
Born and raised in Enfield, Jason began his firefighting career twenty-three years ago as a volunteer with the Enfield Fire District before moving to the Hazardville Fire Department nine years ago. According to Jason “I wanted to serve my community and originally thought I would follow in my father’s footsteps as a police offer. To become a police officer, I needed to be 21, which I wasn’t. To me by becoming a firefighter I would be giving back in the same way and it seemed to be a good fit.”
Jason is married with two children. In his off hours he spends time at sporting and dance events with his children and enjoys playing hockey.

Becoming Lieutenant means more responsibility but Jason said “working with the group of people he does at the Department will make his job a lot easier.”
