Irene R. Zanks, 75; Lifelong Enfield Resident, Holy Family Church Parishioner
Calling hours will be held Wednesday evening with the funeral Mass scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 30.

Irene R. (Klezos) Zanks, beloved wife of 54 years of William F. Zanks Jr., of Enfield, died peacefully surrounded by family on Monday Oct. 27, 2014, at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford. She was 75.
Born in Enfield on July 18, 1939, she was a daughter of the late George Klezos, II and Adele (Domanowski) Klezos.

She was a lifelong resident and a parishioner of Holy Family Church, Enfield. Family was most important to her. She was an avid reader, enjoyed orchids, doing cross word puzzles, watching UConn ladies basketball, and had played trivial pursuit for 20 years with her special friends Norma, Gerry and Sue. She also loved her dog Gizmo of 16 years.
In addition to her husband Bill, she leaves behind her children, Suzanne Piturro and her husband, Gregory of North Kingstown, RI, Kimberley Zanks and her husband, Shaun of Hampden, MA and William “Scott” Zanks and his wife, Jennifer of Durham; a brother, George Klezos III and his wife, Christa of Londonderry, VT; a sister, Lillian Bouthiette and her husband, Leonard of Enfield; three grandchildren, Gregory J. Piturro, Jack and Henry Zanks and among her many nieces nephews she leaves her special nieces, Sheree Pasini, Michelle Scanlon and Darcie Wishart.

Special thanks to the wonderful staff at St. Francis Hospital, St. Mary Home in West Hartford, her Parkway Pavilion family and her wonderful, compassionate team of doctors.
Family and friends may gather at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 30 at Leete- Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Church. Burial will follow at Hazardville Cemetery. Her family will receive friends today/Wednesday, Oct. 29 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to the Connecticut Humane Society, 701 Russell Rd., Newington, CT 06111.
