Jersey Mike’s franchise owner Ken and Audrey Schanke presented a donation of $1967.22 to Wreaths Across America – Enfield CT. The donation comes from stores located in Enfield, Manchester, Rocky Hill and Middletown and is made up of 10% of their proceeds on November 14, 2022. Pam Townsend, a Wreaths Across America location coordinator for Enfield, CT accepted the donation. The donation will go towards sponsoring Veteran wreaths at Saint Patrick’s Cemetery.

Pam Townsend is a member of the American Legion, John Maciolek Post 154 and President of the American Legion, John Maciolek Auxiliary Unit 154. The Auxiliary has been hosting the Wreaths Across America ceremony at Saint Patrick’s Cemetery since 2018.

This year Enfield celebrates 15 years of supporting Wreaths Across America’s mission-Remember, Honor, and Teach. It all began in 2008 when the Daughters of the American Revolution-Penelope Terry Abbey chapter hosted the first ceremony. Jean Robinson was the first location coordinator, then Gail Meyers, then Kelly Davis. In 2018, Pam Townsend and Vinny Grady began and with the amazing support from the members of Unit 154 and our community of volunteers the ceremony continues today.

This year’s ceremony is on December 17, 2022 at 12:00pm. The ceremony will take place at Saint Patrick’s Cemetery, 1558 Enfield Street, Enfield, CT. Volunteers are needed. Contact Pam at Enfieldwaa@yahoo.com to volunteer or for more information visit www.wreathsacrossamerica.org/ctspce for specific information regarding the ceremony at Saint Patrick’s Cemetery.
