John H. Parsons Jr., 90; World War II Veteran, Retired Design Engineer

John H. Parsons Jr., beloved husband of Noella (Linteau) Parsons of Enfield, died Aug. 2, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford. He was 90.

Born on April 8, 1924 in Patterson, NY, son of the late John H. Parsons, Sr., and Marion (Smith) Parsons, he had lived in Enfield for more than 50 years.

John was a U.S. Army Air Corps Veteran of World War II with the 363rd Air Service Group in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. He attended the yearly reunion with the 73rd Bomb Wing. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Electronics Engineering from Milwaukee School of Engineering and was employed by Kaman Aerospace Corporation, Bloomfield as a design engineer for 30 years before retiring in 1988.

John enjoyed fishing, reading and was a fan of the Boston Red Sox.

In addition to his wife, “Nell,” he leaves his devoted children, Nancy Driscoll of Braintree, MA., Barbara Cartier and her husband, Edward of Enfield, John H. Parsons III and his wife, Linda of South Windsor and Susan Cavanaugh and her husband, Jeffrey of Enfield; a brother, Thomas Parsons of Franklin, NC; adoring grandchildren, Laura, Michael and David Driscoll, Nathan Cartier and his wife, Alison Annon, Mady Caron and her husband Matthew, Craig and Evan Parsons and Jacquelyn Agruso and Jeffrey and Matthew Cavanaugh; a great-grandson, Oscar Caron and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

His family will receive friends on Friday, Aug.15 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd, Enfield.
