Kristine Ann Abernathy; 61; Nurse in Enfield Who Loved Gardening
Calling hours are scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 18 with the funeral services to be held Wednesday, Nov. 19.

Kristine Ann (Williams) Abernathy of Enfield entered into eternal peace at Baystate Medical Center, Springfield, MA on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2014. She was 61.
She was born on March 23, 1953 in Holyoke, MA daughter of the late Edward and Emily (Rosienski) Wassung.

Kristine lived in Enfield for many years and was a graduate of Enfield High School class of 1971. She enjoyed gardening, shopping, always for others, and caring for her birds Sarah and Cracker. She was a very giving person which enabled her to have a rewarding career as an LPN. A beautiful person inside and out, she never once thought of herself, but only the happiness of others. Kristine was also gifted as a master cake decorator. Her greatest joy was raising her daughter Jennifer and spending time with her.
She is survived by a daughter Jennifer Abernathy and her fiancé Justin Kiuttu of Davenport, FL; three brothers Vern Williams of Enfield, Edward Wassung and his wife Lori of Goffstown, NH, and David Wassung and his wife Kelly of Enfield; two nephews Matthew and Daniel Wassung; and a niece Katherine Wassung.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, Nov. 18, from 6-8 p.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd. A funeral service will be held at Leete-Stevens on Wednesday, Nov. 19, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s King Street Cemetery.
