Laurie had a zeal for taking care of others and was proud of her time as an EMT for the Suffield Volunteer Ambulance Association, where she served alongside her daughter Tamara. She also worked for the Visiting Nurses’ Association in Suffield, Enfield Gynecology and Obstetrics, and Suffield EyeCare.

Endlessly loving and passionate about her family, Laurie spent most of her life caring for those around her. She was blessed to have not one but two great romances – first with Vernon Reed, Jr., her husband for 31 years, until he passed away in 2005; and more recently with Edward Stroiney, with whom she had been married since 2008.
