LETTER: 7th District Will Be Better Served With Annie Hornish

Opinions expressed are those of the letter writer and do not necessarily reflect the views of Patch Media. Opposing viewpoints are welcomed.

Annie (Wosko) Hornish is campaigning to be our next State Senator. If there is one thing I have learned about Annie, it is that she does not stop fighting for something in which she believes. Annie finds a way to get the job done.

As an example, in Annie’s capacity as the State Director for the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), she coordinated a public/private partnership between the Connecticut Department of Agriculture and the HSUS, creating a database, at no cost to the State, to ensure consumers in Connecticut are not inadvertently buying dogs from cruel puppy mills. This demonstrates Annie’s ability to bring people together to find solutions. This ability was recognized earlier this year when Annie received the Best of Hartford Magazine’s Community Leader award.

It is easy to say there is a problem and something must be done. It is altogether different to actually get it done. Annie gets the job done. The 7th district will be much better off with Annie Hornish as our Senator.
