LETTER: Backing Annie Hornish For State Senator
Opinions expressed are those of the letter writer and do not necessarily reflect the views of Patch Media. Opposing viewpoints are welcomed.

In the 7th Senate district election, Annie Hornish has my vote, in part because I think she has a smart approach to getting our state on a solid financial footing by first addressing underfunded pension liabilities which, if not addressed, will have significant repercussions, affecting things from having money available for infrastructure improvement to education to aid for those who are going through hard times to the state’s ability to borrow money.
Hornish also supports net neutrality, which is good for individuals and small businesses; promotion of green alternatives to address rising energy costs and because it furthers the cause of a sustainable and healthy environment; and affordable housing, which is essential to ultimate cost containment but more importantly is simply the right thing to do as many of those who cannot afford rising rents are seniors who have worked hard their entire lives, and we need to take care of them, because we owe them.
I have every confidence that Hornish will get the job done. Annie has my vote.
