LETTER: Enfield Republicans Have Done a Great Job, Don't Settle For Less

I was reading the ad in the Senior Center News the Republican Party in Enfield placed and I saw it said “To continue an open and honest government from really nice people” and you know what? That’s the exact truth. The folks on the Republican ticket really ARE nice people.

Some are already currently serving and some are new, but I know almost every one of them and on a personal level, they are some of the best people I know. They have volunteered countless hours to a myriad of causes and to me, that kind of service in critical in serving the citizens of Enfield.

Since I'm a "Facebook junkie" (lol) I scroll though various groups and whatnot, and I’ve seen some vile posts from some during this election season. Granted, this minor group of "trolls" aren't worth the time of day, but some of the things they have been posting are beyond pale. I guess when some can’t run on issues, they instead go directly to personality.

This nonsense is all "personal attacks" something Scott Kaupin has always told us is to “focus on the issues, not the personalities.” Sure you can always find "stuff" from anyone's past, and that can said for both sides, but it sure says a lot about "Facebook trolls" how low they will go when they have nothing good to say. They don’t care if a person is innocent of any matter, they just read the headline and stop there. Folks read the whole story.

You will NEVER see any of the Republican candidates waste your time by trashing their competition, they have plenty to be proud about. And as the ad states clearly...these are good people, honest and trustworthy with only the good of Enfield as their reason to volunteer for these council and board of education positions.

While it is true the Democrats in Hartford have done everything they can to ruin this state, the Enfield Republicans have been fiscally responsible, transparent, trustworthy, and focused for all of us for years. When elected on November 7, they will continue to do all of that and more.

I know the Enfield Republicans have done wonderful things for Enfield these last ten years. Some things are easy to spot, like the high school renovation or the roads. All I can say, I will be voting for the full Republican slate on November 7th. These guys don’t play in the gutter and I hope you will start at Line B 1 and go straight across, because they truly are the best team for the brightest Enfield.
