Opinions expressed are those of the letter writer and do not necessarily reflect the views of Patch Media. Opposing viewpoints are welcomed.

I am writing this letter to give my support of Dr. Marie Davis, Democratic candidate for Town Council in District 3.
In both her professional and personal life, Marie's record of commitment to service will make her a strong voice on the Town Council.
Marie has served the public throughout her career, as a special education teacher and an administrator. She graduated with her Bachelor’s from the University of Saint Joseph and her Masters and Doctorate from the University of Hartford. She also has served in the role of the Director of a special education facility for students with significant disabilities. Currently she is an administrator who is responsible for overseeing programs and services for students with special needs and as such, is responsible for meeting strict State of Connecticut and Federal compliance requirements along with district guidelines.

In her role as a public servant, she focuses strongly on maximizing services while observing strong fiscal responsibility and her work has led to improved services and improved student outcomes without an increase of the tax burden on residents. Her track record in her public roles has proven that her expertise has led to improvement in need areas.
Marie feels strongly that the Town Councilor must listen to citizens' input and concerns. She believes that a Town Councilor must be responsive to those concerns and act accordingly when weighing decisions.

Since moving to Enfield 11 years ago, Dr. Marie Davis has been active in her community as a member of EFEE's Executive Board, a member of Nathan Hale's School Climate Committee, Family Day and Heritage Day volunteer, and a member of the Nathan Hale and Prudence Crandall PTOs. She participates in the Scantic River Cleanup and the Connecticut River Source to the Sea Annual Cleanup.
Marie is a proud mother to 5 children and a grandmother to 5 children. Her youngest child and her grandchildren attend the Enfield Public Schools. Marie is also a military spouse, married to a 24 year retired combat veteran.
I urge you to consider a vote for Marie Davis, on November 7th, along with all of our Democratic Town Council slate: Tom Arnone, Steve Niemetz, Bob Cressotti, Liz Davis, and Ed Deni. They are a committed and dedicated team who will proudly represent the concerns and the voices of the people of Enfield.
