Maine Man Charged in String of Enfield Burglaries from 2009 and 2010

Enfield detectives traveled to Maine to bring the suspect back to face multiple charges.

ENFIELD, CT - A man now living in Maine was brought back to Connecticut by Enfield detectives Wednesday in connection with a series of burglaries more than six years ago.

Sean Wetherington, 25, of Yarmouth, Maine, is charged with five counts of third-degree burglary, five counts of sixth-degree larceny and failure to respond to an infraction.

Deputy Police Chief Gary Collins said Wetherington is accused of burglarizing five homes, including four in the same neighborhood, in late 2009 and early 2010.

Homes that were victimized were on Nancy Drive, Varno Lane, Aloha Drive and Pine Grove Avenue - all in the vicinity of Prudence Crandall School - as well as Jackson Road in Green Manorville.

Maine authorities had taken Wetherington into custody, learned of the outstanding warrants from Enfield and notified local police, who traveled north to pick him up Wednesday.
