The case involves a 4-month old child, according to police.

ENFIELD, CT — A Massachusetts man was arrested Tuesday on a warrant charging him with multiple counts of first-degree assault and risk of injury to a child.
William Clingensmith, 37, of Springfield, was charged with two counts of first-degree assault, five counts of risk of injury to a child and four counts of first-degree reckless endangerment. He was arraigned Tuesday in Enfield Superior Court, where he was released on a promise to appear on March 5.
Police Chief Carl Sferrazza said the Enfield Police Department was informed of the case in Dec. 2017, and has been working with the Department of Children and Families. He said he could not release any other details at this point, other than to say the case involves a 4-month old infant.
