A car collided with a DOT work truck, then with another car on the northbound side of the highway Wednesday afternoon.

ENFIELD, CT — An elderly driver was hospitalized with minor injuries Wednesday after his vehicle collided first with a parked Department of Transportation truck, then with another car on Interstate 91 northbound in Enfield.
The collision occurred around 1:39 p.m. just under a mile north of Exit 45 when a Subaru Forester traveling in the right lane struck the left side of a DOT crash truck which was parked partially in the right lane and partially on the right shoulder. The truck was aiding a construction/mowing detail, state police said.
After striking the truck, the Forester rebounded into the travel lane of the highway and collided with a BMW 535I, driven by a man from Albany, N.Y. The highway was reduced to one lane while the Forester and DOT truck were towed from the scene, state police said.
