Police utilized the Enfield Joint Operation Center camera footage taken in the area during the attack, and quickly established Foster as a suspect in the crime. Foster was spotted in the parking lot of a nearby apartment complex, and detained while police continued an investigation, Fox said.

According to judicial records, Foster has been convicted eight times since 2010 on charges ranging from violating probation to sale of narcotics. Six of those eight convictions brought prison time, with sentences from 90 days to 30 months.
