Manslaughter Charge Filed In 2021 Fatal Crash Case In Enfield
A Massachusetts resident has been charged with manslaughter with a motor vehicle in connection with a Nov. 2021 fatal crash on I-91.

ENFIELD, CT — A Massachusetts man has been charged with manslaughter in connection with a 2-vehicle crash on Interstate 91 which killed another Massachusetts resident in Nov. 2021.
Dominic Grassetti, 25, of Feeding Hills, was charged by state police on a warrant with second-degree manslaughter with a motor vehicle. Bond was set at $150,000.
According to an affidavit supporting Grassetti's arrest, on Nov. 12, 2021, around 12:42 a.m., he was driving a 2013 Hyundai Sonata on the northbound side of I-91 just north of Exit 48 when the car struck the back end of a 2004 Scion xA. Police arriving at the scene found the Scion in the right shoulder of the highway, and the Hyundai in the left shoulder.

The Scion operator, Fernando Lebron, 60, of Chicopee, was pronounced dead "of blunt force trauma of head, neck and torso" at the scene. Grassetti told police he was not injured, according to the affidavit.
Grassetti "was struggling to keep his balance and was using the metal guardrail for support" upon police arrival at the scene. He told troopers he "had consumed an alcoholic beverage" while in the company of a stripper at the Mardi Gras 2 in East Windsor, and subsequently failed several field sobriety tests, according to the affidavit.

Investigation revealed the Hyundai was traveling between 109 and 118 miles per hour at the time of the crash, according to the affidavit.
