Monteforte Edges Hopkins In Enfield District 4 Town Council Primary
Political newcomer Kari Monteforte topped incumbent councilor Nick Hopkins in a primary Tuesday for the Democratic District 4 nomination.

ENFIELD, CT — District 4 will be represented by a new member of the town council this fall, as incumbent Nick Hopkins came up just short in his bid for the Democratic nomination in a primary Tuesday at Henry Barnard School.
Political newcomer Kari Monteforte topped Hopkins by a 185-170 margin to earn a spot on the November ballot. She will be opposed by Republican Bob Hendrickson.
Pursuant to Connecticut General Statute 9-311a, a recanvass of the returns of the voting machines, absentee ballots and write-in ballots will take place Saturday at 9 a.m. in the Scitico Room at town hall.

"I am extremely excited to have the opportunity to run for and represent District 4," Monteforte said following her victory.
Hopkins, who won the seat in 2021 from Republican incumbent Charlotte Riley, said, "I deeply appreciate the support I have received from volunteers all over District 4. I think Kari ran a very solid race and wish her the best."
