ENFIELD, CT — Here are some recent notable achievements for college students from Enfield, as reported by readMedia Newswire.

Curry College, Milton MA

• Haley Soltys of Enfield has been named to the Dean's List for the spring 2017 semester. To qualify for the Dean's List, students must earn a 3.30 GPA, have no incompletes, and have no grade lower than a "C" for the semester. Full-time students must carry 12 or more graded credits for the semester.

Mount Ida College, Newton MA

• Stacey Marino, an Interior Architecture and Design major from Enfield, was named to the spring 2017 Dean's List at Mount Ida College, for achieving a GPA of 3.33 or higher.

Springfield College, Springfield MA

• Springfield College recently held its commencement weekend. At the graduate commencement, 658 master's degrees, six certificates of advanced graduate study, 15 Doctor of Philosophy degrees, 34 Doctor of Physical Therapy degrees, and five Doctor of Psychology degrees were awarded. At the undergraduate commencement, 873 bachelor's degrees were awarded for a two-day total of 1591 degrees. Enfield graduates were Rachel Kaliff, bachelor's of science degree in Athletic Training; Emily Sweetman, bachelor's of science degree in Computer Graphics/Digital Arts; Amanda Crane, bachelor's of science degree in Health Science and Pre-Physical Therapy; Telishia Torres, bachelor's of science degree in Human Services; Jessica Cerrato, master's of science degree in Physician Assistant; Shaunte Straughn, master's of social work degree in Social Work; Sharon Walsh, master's of social work degree in Social Work; and Marisa Fourkiotis, master's of social work degree in Social Work.
• Springfield College has named 14 students from Enfield to the dean's list for academic excellence for the spring 2017 term. They are Francheska Matos-Cruz, Matthew Johnson, Ashley Kennedy, Steven Roy, Emily Sweetman, Samantha Dumas, Daniel Hurlburt, Gabriella Colaccino, Sandy Molina, Jessika Robbins, Amanda Crane, Melissa Pugh, Pedro Rosado and Telishia Torres. Criteria for selection to the dean's list requires that the student must have a minimum semester grade point average of 3.500 for the semester.

University of Vermont, Burlington VT

• Jessica Reed has been named to the dean's list for the sping 2017 semester at the University of Vermont. Reed, from Enfield, is majoring in Business Administration in the Grossman School of Business. To be named to the dean's list, students must have a grade-point average of 3.0 or better and rank in the top 20 percent of their class in their respective college or school.

Western Connecticut State University, Danbury CT

• Enfield residents Wamiq Ahmad, Lukasz Kluk, Audra Sferrazza and Caitlin White recently graduated from Western Connecticut State University.

Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester MA

• Daniel Salisbury of Enfield, a member of the class of 2018 majoring in mechanical engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), was a member of a student team that recently completed an intense, hands-on research project in India. The project was titled Improving Water Quality in the Villages of Himachal Pradesh. In their project summary, the students wrote, "The goal of our project was to assess the quality, monitoring, and treatment methods of drinking water in rural villages of Himachal Pradesh."
