The Enfield Senior Center has offered new classes that have had a remarkable enrollment! If you missed the trial classes, you can still sign up for the next series. Tai Chi Chuh (pronounced tie chee chuh) is a simpler form of Tai Chi that focuses on balance and stress reduction. The class is held Mondays at 2:15 p.m. The next six-class series begins on April 4. The fee is $18 for residents and $24 for nonresidents. Zumba Gold has created quite a stir in the mornings and in the evenings. Both sessions begin on April 6. The morning class begins at 10:30 a.m. and the evening class begins at 6 p.m. The fee is $32 for an eight-week session of mornings for residents and $40 for nonresidents. The evening class is 6-sessions and the fee is $24 for residents and $30 for nonresidents.
If you were considering going to the 4-day Gettysburg and Lancaster trip from April 25 to 28, please register this week. The trip may be cancelled due to low signups. This is the last opportunity to take advantage of this great trip.
On Monday, March 21, at 6 p.m. watch the movie “Red” with popcorn. And then on Monday, March 28, at 6 p.m. join us for our first Sing-A-Long Movie “The King and I”. Watch Yul Brynner and Deborah Kerr and belt out “I Whistle a Happy Tune,” “Shall We Dance,” and “Getting to Know You.” Tickets are $2 per person.

Join us for Antiques Appraisal Night to see the valuable and unusual attic treasures to be appraised or bring some of your own. On Thursday, March 24 at 5 p.m., we will host the second Antiques Appraisal Night with pizza for sale, a silent auction and a dollar table to find some interesting items. Admission is $5 which entitles you to two appraisals by experts from Olde Tavern Antiques. Gold will be appraised and purchased with a potion of the sale going to the fundraising efforts of the Enfield Senior Center. Tickets are on sale in the Senior Center office and at the door.
Dance to the sounds of Rich Mitnick on Friday, March 25 at 2 p.m. Join the dance party for $3 payable at the door. A snack is provided.

Circle the date on your calendar. You do not want to miss the Senior Lifestyle Expo that will be held on Saturday, April 9 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. The Senior Lifestyle Expo will have more vendors this year than any other year. Many companies from travel and leisure, real estate, health and wellness, home improvements, insurance and more will be on hand with information. Admission is free and there will be raffles, free screenings and giveaways. The first 500 attendees will receive a ticket for a free lunch to take it home or eat there. It is always a great day.
This is the last week of registration for the Friends of the Enfield Senior Center 8-day trip to Mackinac Island, Michigan, via Niagara Falls and including a stay in Frankenmuth from June 2 through June 9. This trip includes seven nights hotel accommodations, fourteen meals, dinner atop Skyline Tower at Niagara Falls, casino gambling at Niagara, two nights and tours of Mackinac Island, two nights and tour of Frankenmuth and admission to the Henry Ford Museum. The tour also visits Bronner's Christmas Village, the world's largest Christmas store. This trip has many extras and the cost is $1199 per person/double room, trip insurance is included. Please pick up a flyer at the Senior Center or call Pat Dennis at 860-745-3252. Must have a valid passport.
Please register in the Senior Center office for these learning opportunities. Although registration is not mandatory, if the program is cancelled and you have registered, you will receive a call.
Everything You Need to Know About Voting – Wednesday, March 23 at 1 p.m.
How to Talk to Your Doctor – Wednesday, March 30 at 1 p.m., Dr. Herbert DiMeola, M.D. will offer ways to get answers about your health.
Social Security Savvy – Thursday, March 31 at 1 p.m. This program will clarify common misconceptions and address questions on retirement, survivor, disability, divorced spouse and Medicare benefits.
