ENFIELD, CT — A multi-use path currently running on Town Farm Road from Post Office to Abbe roads will be extended, as the town of Enfield has been awarded a Local Transportation Capital Improvement Program (LOTCIP) grant of $847,200.

This grant will fund the entirety of the construction cost for the installation of the path. The new section of path will now continue from Abbe Road to Broad Brook Road, making a total length of 1.95 miles upon completion of the new segment, Town Manager Christopher Bromson said.

The path will be 10 feet wide with a 4-foot-wide snow shelf, matching the existing multi-use path, Bromson said.

Sharrow bike markings on Fletcher Road to the Somers town line and on Post Office Road to Enfield Street will also be completed via the grant, filling the remaining gap of the east-west connection from Somers to Route 5 in Enfield, Bromson said.
