New Bus Service to be Subject of Public Meeting

The Capitol Region Council of Governments (CRCOG) and the Town of Enfield will host a public meeting to present information and gather input on the initiation of a new bus service for Enfield.  

The purpose of the meeting is to introduce the public to the study and to gather input on where the bus should go as well as the times of day the service should operate. This meeting is an opportunity for the public to obtain information about the transit study and shape the route and schedule of the new service early in the process.

CRCOG and the Town of Enfield have received federal grant funds to plan and operate the new, fixed route bus service in Enfield. The new service is expected to begin in 2012.

The public meeting will be held Wednesday, Feb. 15 from 6–8 p.m. at Council Chambers, Enfield Town Hall, 820 Enfield St.

In addition, the public is invited to complete an online survey, which can be accessed at www.enfieldtransitsurvey.info. The survey will be open through mid-February.

The public meeting will begin with an informal interactive open house session. The study team will then give a presentation on data gathering and preliminary analysis and potential routes, followed by a discussion period. CRCOG and members of the study team, led by Nelson/Nygaard of Boston, will be present to discuss the study and answer questions.
