ENFIELD, CT — Retired Thompsonville Fire Department Chief Frank Alaimo has been endorsed by the Enfield Republican Town Committee to seek the District 3 town council seat in the November municipal election.

The current District 3 councilor, Deputy Mayor Donna Szewczak, is not seeking re-election. At a July caucus, Robert Chagnon was selected as the District 3 candidate, but paperwork filed Tuesday with the town clerk places Alaimo on the ballot.

"This is something I have always considered and when Bob Chagnon shared he would not be pursuing the council seat, I was thrilled to be asked," Alaimo said. "With my wife, Carm, by my side, we made the decision to toss my hat into the ring."
