ENFIELD, CT — Officer Matthew Alexander and his partner Duke graduated Friday from the Connecticut State Police 241st Police Canine Training Academy.

At the conclusion of the rigorous 14-week training program, Alexander was the recipient of the Officer Daniel Wasson Patrol K9 Award. He has returned to the Enfield Police Department, which he joined in March 2014, and will begin patrol canine duties immediately, Chief Alaric Fox said.

"This graduation brings the department’s canine contingent back up to its full staffing level," Fox said.
