Asnuntuck Community College will be holding a Healthcare Career Open House on Tuesday, Aug. 30th from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the Freshwater Commons. The evening will include information regarding the 13 Healthcare Career Certificate Programs available at the college as well as light refreshments, free chair massages, a $100 discount on registration and more. Representatives from Asnuntuck’s Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center and from the credit side of the college will also be available to answer questions and register students.
According to the U.S. Department of Labor, the healthcare industry is projected to create 3.2 million new jobs by 2018. Those interested in exploring a career in healthcare are encouraged to attend to learn more about the programs, which include EMT, Dental Assistant Program, Certified Medical Administrative Assistant, Medical Billing and Coding, Certified Pharmacy Technician, Phlebotomy/EKG Technician, Veterinary Technician, Massage Therapy, Certified Sterilization Technician and Dental Assistant. Three newer programs offered at Asnuntuck, include Nail Technician, Certified Personal Trainer and Esthetician.
