Outdoor Boxing Returning to Enfield
The Mount Carmel Society is presenting its second Boxing Under the Stars event Saturday.

Sunny skies are in the forecast for the second Boxing Under the Stars event, scheduled for Saturday, June 15 on the grounds of the Mount Carmel Society in Enfield.
The Sept. 29, 2012 boxing card, the first outdoor show in this area in six decades, drew over 500 spectators, and organizers are anticipating an even larger crowd for the second event.
"The weather is supposed to be spectacular, 82 degrees and clear, and we will have some tremendous AAU, Gold Glove-caliber boxers," Society president Carl Sferrazza said.

The show will feature 12 to 15 bouts beginning at 7 p.m. Gates open at 5 p.m.

Tickets are $25 ringside, $20 reserved and $15 general admission, and are available at Danny's Pizza, Freshwater Package Store and Troiano Oil Co. On-site parking will be available for $5 a car.
As a preview to the annual Italian Festival, the Society will have homemade food available during the bouts.
"It's not quite to the scale of the feast, but it will be just as good," Sferrazza said. "We guarantee an exciting night of boxing for a fraction of the cost of traveling down to Mohegan or Foxwoods."
