Phillip Vernon Bauer, 91, of Enfield, passed from this world, July 21, 2015 at the Evergreen Health Care, to join his precious wife Claire.

Phil was born in Pittsfield, MA and spent most of youth living in the Berkshires.

He was honorably discharged from the United States Army after serving in World War II. From there, he worked as an engineer for such places as Boeing Aircraft and Kaman Aircraft.

There was not a project that Phil undertook that wasn’t completed to the highest of expectation. There was nothing he didn’t have a tool for! Always there to help someone in need, he was in high demand by family, neighbors and friends for whatever came up, whether it was household or something with a motor on it!

Phil leaves behind a son, Dean Bauer of Somers; a daughter, Beverly B. Tierney of Enfield; two beloved grandsons, Ethan Bauer of Somers and Seth Garrepy and his wife, Stacey in North Carolina and were both the light of his life. He also leaves two brothers, Richard Bauer of Dalton, MA and Vernon Bauer of Pittsfield, MA.

Funeral services are held privately. Phil will be laid to rest with his beloved wife, at the Hazardville Cemetery, and at the convenience of the family.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Evergreen Health Care for the loving care provided during Phil’s illness.
