Ed Prajzner and Jay Mele, members of the Shaker Pines Fire Department, visited the kindergarten class at the Henry Barnard School on Friday.
The firefighters read to the students as part of the Book Buddies program, which was created about four years ago to promote an early interest in reading.
The Enfield Fire Chiefs Association provides books for each kindergartener as part of the program.
