Picture Enfield - Then and Now
An old photograph and story from Enfield history and how that site appears today, plus a trivia question about the town.

ENFIELD, CT — Today's installment of this weekly Enfield history series, courtesy of the Facebook group Picture Enfield, is totally different than any we have done in this series. This time, we have absolutely no clue whatsoever who these gentlemen are, or what the occasion may be. If you can fill us in, we'd love to get that information. Email tim.jensen@patch.com.
The picture itself is rather hysterical, obviously taken in the mid-1970s based on the fashions, though I doubt any of those outfits were ever actually in style. Between the white bucks that would do Pat Boone proud, to the plaid slacks that Rodney Dangerfield wouldn't be caught dead in, to the white buttons on a dark shirt and the extensive exam ammo in the shirt pocket of the fedora-clad Sgt. Joe Friday lookalike ... did I mention the very wide white belt? I'm surprised not one of the men is wearing a Nehru jacket.
