Police Investigating Bloody Enfield Apartment

Two people were injured, and police are seeking a third individual.

ENFIELD, CT — Enfield police and members of the Connecticut State Police are actively investigating a potential crime scene in an apartment building in the southern part of town, where a "significant amount of blood spatter" was found, Chief Alaric Fox said.

Police dispatch logs indicate officers responded to 711 Gatewood Drive, in the Contrywood Apartments complex, at 10:53 a.m. Sunday for a disorderly conduct call. Later Sunday night, police returned to the scene upon reports of blood found at the apartment.

Two individuals were treated for injuries which, according to Fox, "do not account for the amount of blood found." He added a third unidentified person is being sought.

After consulting with the State Attorney's office Sunday, local and state police collaborated on an investigation, which remains active. Dogs checked the area outside the complex, while personnel from the major crimes squad worked inside, Fox said.

Investigators worked around the clock, Fox said, saying the investigation would be "still active even after they clear the scene."
