SUFFIELD, CT — The State of Connecticut Department of Transportation Highway Safety Office conducts research and compiles data on traffic collisions, seat belt usage, drunken driving, and related roadway safety issues.
Super Bowl Sunday has been identified as among the more dangerous driving holidays due to fatalities and collisions attributed to persons driving while under the influence of alcohol.
The men and women of the Suffield Police Department are urging all to be mindful of this fact as families and friends gather today to celebrate the Super Bowl. To that end, the department has created a video illustrating the hazards of driving while impaired.

Do not get behind the wheel of an automobile if you have been consuming alcohol. Make the decision ahead of time to not drink, or to have a designated sober driver in place.

Police on the state and town level will be actively patrolling to detect and arrest drivers impaired by alcohol and/or drugs.
