Presidential, Congressional Primaries Conclude Tuesday

ENFIELD, CT — The most unusual circumstances under which presidential and congressional primary elections have ever taken place conclude Tuesday, as registered Democrats and Republicans in Enfield head to the polls Tuesday, or continue dropping off absentee ballots in special receptacles behind Town Hall.

The onset of the coronavirus pandemic has led to unprecedented safety measures. For the August 2020 primaries, all residents had the option of voting by absentee ballot, pursuant to Executive Order No. 7QQ of Gov. Ned Lamont. Absentee ballots must be deposited by 8 p.m.

Those opting to vote in person may do so Tuesday from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. at these polling locations:

  • District 1 - Enfield Senior Center, 299 Elm St. (John F. Kennedy Middle School is undergoing reconstruction)
  • District 2 - Enfield Street School, 1318 Enfield St.
  • District 3 - former Enrico Fermi High School, 124 North Maple St.
  • District 4 - Henry Barnard School, 27 Shaker Rd.

Enfield Democrats and Republicans will be voting for their presidential preference, and Republicans will also be choosing a candidate for the 2nd congressional district.
