A Proven Advocate for Enfield Schools: Why We Endorse John Santanella

As the Democractic members of the Enfield Board of Education, we see firsthand the challenges and opportunities facing our schools. We understand how critical strong state partnerships are to providing students with the resources, programs, and facilities they need to succeed.

That is why we are proud to endorse State Representative John Santanella for re-election in the 58th District.

John has proven to be a strong advocate for public education and for Enfield. He is responsive, accessible, and consistently shows up for the people he serves. When teachers and school staff were fighting to protect their jobs and maintain the quality of education for students, John was there listening, asking questions, and working alongside stakeholders to find solutions. He does not shy away from difficult conversations and has earned the trust of many across our community through his willingness to listen, collaborate, and act.

John helped secure an additional $1.017 million in Education Cost Sharing funding for Enfield Public Schools and supported a $1.4 million Alliance District grant that brings valuable resources directly to our students and schools. He has also been a strong supporter of increased special education funding and efforts to address the growing financial pressures facing school districts across Connecticut.

John has also worked tirelessly to position Enfield for State support as we pursue our long-awaited school modernization efforts. As Board of Education members, we know progress like this requires more than good intentions it requires relationships, persistence, and effective advocacy. John has demonstrated all three while consistently putting Enfield’s needs first.

At a pivotal moment for our schools, Enfield benefits from having a proven advocate in Hartford. We are confident John will continue fighting for the students, families, and taxpayers of our community.

We proudly endorse John Santanella for re-election and encourage Democratic voters in the 58th District to support him on Primary Day, August 11th.
