Raymond 'Ray' Clark; 84; Longtime Enfield Resident, Connecticut Transit Retiree

Calling hours are scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 76with the funeral to be held on Friday, Nov. 7.

Raymond “Ray” F. Clark, 84, of Enfield, passed away on Monday, Nov. 3, 2014, to be reunited with his beloved wife of 61 years the late Gertrude (Call) Clark who preceded him in death on (May 17, 2014).

Raymond was born on May 2, 1930 in Hartford, the son of the late Francis and Arlene (Paquette) Clark and resided in Enfield for the past 55 years.

Ray was a former Division Manager and retired from Connecticut Transit after 38 years of service, he was also employed by St. Francis Hospital for 27 years. He was a member of Holy Family Church in Enfield since its inception. He enjoyed traveling with Gertrude, working in his yard and spending time with his family on many vacations and at the summer cottage in New Hampshire. Ray had a very special place in his heart for his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving children; Raymond Clark Jr. and his wife Deborah of Newington, Karen Greco and her husband Richard of Southwick, MA, Joanne Cole and her husband Edward of Kensington, Thomas Clark and his wife Victoria of Somers and David Clark and his companion Karen Bosworth of Enfield; his cherished grandchildren; Erin, Jason, Richard, Edward, Colleen, Ryan, Christine, Kelly, Samantha, Jennifer, David, Madison, Paige, and Austin and 10 great-grandchildren.

Raymond’s family would especially like to thank the staff at Evergreen Health Care Center for the exceptional and compassionate care given to him.

Family and friends will gather for calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Nov. 7, with the funeral procession forming at 9 a.m. at the funeral home, then to Holy Family Church 23 Simon Rd. Enfield for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Patrick’s King St. Cemetery in Enfield.

Memorial donations in his memory may be made to the Smilow Cancer Hosptial at Yale New Haven, 20 York St. New Haven, CT 06510.
