Residents Appointed to Enfield High School Building Committee

At its Monday night meeting, the Enfield Town Council appointed a 13-member bipartisan panel of residents to work on the renovation plan for the Enfield High School facility.

The Enfield High School Renovation and Expansion Project Building Committee was formed to work with the town and school staff, architects and selected contractors to prepare the design plans for the expansion and renovation of Enfield High School, which will become the town's sole high school.

In November, voters overwhelmingly approved a $103 million plan to consolidate Enfield and Fermi high schools, with the state reimbursing nearly 72 percent of the cost. Plans call for the newly-renovated facility to be ready by fall 2017.

Four Democrats, four Republicans and three unaffiliated residents were selected to the panel, with a pair of unaffiliated citizens appointed as alternates.

The building committee members are Democrats Virginia Austin, Doug Maxellon, George Rypysc and Lynn Scull; Republicans Randy Daigle, Walter Kruzel, Joseph Muller and Jim Nasuta; and unaffiliated residents Jason Kilty, Wendy Osada and Gina Sullivan.

Gregory Strich and Laura Vella were appointed as alternates.
