Rotary Club of Enfield Supports Eagle Project

James Gannon a Boy Scout from Troop 819 and a student at CT State Asnuntuck refurbished and created two United States maps at area elementary schools for his Eagle Scout Project. The Rotary Club of Enfield assisted by making a $500 donation toward paint and materials needed for the project.

The map for Prudence Crandall Elementary School involved a re-do (see third photo) of an existing map on a rough surface.

James is a former student at Crandall. The second map (second photo) was done on a blank canvas/pavement at Eli Whitney School. James had to create the map by using an intricate stencil and then complete the painting.

James will be honored with a special ceremony in Enfield in recognition of his earning this distinct Boy Scout honor.
