Sand Barrels Available to Enfield Residents
There are 24 locations in town where residents may obtain free sand.

ENFIELD, CT — In the aftermath of Friday's messy weather mix and subsequent slick travel conditions, many Enfield residents were on social media Saturday morning asking where sand is available in town.
There are two dozen residential sand barrel locations in Enfield, according to this list provided by the town's Public Works/Highway Division:
- Alden Ave. & Hartford Ave. intersection (church parking lot)
- Alden Ave. & Enfield Street intersection
- Asnuntuck Street & Prospect Street intersection in parking lot
- Central Library near dumpsters
- College Street & Church Street intersection
- Crescent Lake
- DPW Building at 40 Moody Road
- EMS Building (back parking lot)
- High Street in the old Senior Center parking lot
- John Street
- Jondot Drive & Bridges Road intersection
- Neelans Road & Kimberly Drive intersection
- Pleasant Street & Chapel Street intersection
- Powder Hill Road & Abbe Road intersection
- Prior Road & Wagon Road intersection
- Prudence Crandall School on Brainard Road
- Roy Street (north side) & Booth Road intersection
- School Street & Hazardville Park building
- South Road & Raffia Road (crossing guard parking area)
- Sunset Drive & Enfield Street intersection
- Taylor Road & Sheridan Road intersection
- Town Hall parking lot (2 barrels)
- West Shore Drive
- Weymouth Road in the fire department parking lot
