Scantic Spring Splash: Results From 28th Annual Races In Enfield

SOMERSVILLE-ENFIELD, CT — The 28th annual Scantic Spring Splash drew more than 100 paddlers to the Scantic River in Somersville Saturday for a 5-mile dash to the South Maple Street bridge in the Powder Hollow section of Hazardville.

A total of 105 paddlers, coming from four New England states and as far away as Ohio, finished the course, which includes four Class II+ rapids. Winners were declared in 14 different categories.

Proceeds from the event are donated to the Enfield Food Shelf.
