Small Fire Prompts Evacuation of Hotel In Enfield

ENFIELD, CT — A local hotel was evacuated Friday morning as firefighters from all five Enfield fire departments responded to a laundry room fire, police said.

The fire was reported at 5 a.m. at the Hampton Inn, located at 20 Phoenix Avenue. The situation was deemed under control around 6 a.m. No serious injuries were reported, police said.

As of 6:30 a.m., firefighters remained at the scene working to ventilate the building, police said.
