State Semifinal Field Hockey Matchups Postponed

The likelihood of rain Tuesday has prompted officials of the CIAC state field hockey tournaments to postpone semifinal action until Wednesday.

"With the projected weather [Tuesday], all of our site directors said Wednesday is open, so we decided to change the semifinals to the better weather day of Wednesday," tournament director Dawn O'Neil said.

Wednesday's forecast is for sunny skies and high temperatures in the upper 50s.

Six semifinal matchups are on tap at neutral sites across the state:

Class L

• No. 2 Enfield vs. No. 3 Staples, 4 p.m. (at Watertown)
• No. 1 Glastonbury vs. No. 4 Darien, 6 p.m. (at Watertown)

Class M

• No. 3 Branford vs. No. 7 New Canaan, 7 p.m. (at Trumbull)
• No. 4 Guilford vs. No. 8 Lauralton Hall, 7 p.m. (at Branford)

Class S

• No. 2 Stonington vs. No. 3 Haddam-Killingworth, 6 p.m. (at East Lyme)
• No. 1 Westbrook vs. No. 4 Granby Memorial, 6:30 p.m. (at Wethersfield)
