GREATER ENFIELD, CT — Sen. John A. Kissel, the Ranking Member of the Judiciary Committee, was endorsed Monday by the 7th state Senate District Republican convention to seek his 15th term, representing Enfield, Somers, Suffield, East Granby, Windsor Locks and portions of Granby and Windsor.

Kissel was nominated by former Enfield Mayor Scott Kaupin; the nomination was seconded by Connecticut Republican State Central Committee member Paul Smith. Kaupin and Smith cited Kissel’s leadership and experience, saying these qualities are much needed in uncertain times.

"I am honored to receive this endorsement," Kissel said. "I continue to work tirelessly to improve the quality of life for the residents of the 7th Senate District. I love this state and will continue fighting to pass policies which put Connecticut on a more stable, predictable, pro-business, pro-taxpayer path. That's how I have always aimed to serve the people of the 7th District. I hope to continue to be the voice of the people at the State Capitol, and I am very appreciative of this endorsement."

Kissel lives in Enfield with his wife, Cynthia, and their sons, Nathaniel and Tristan.
