Stolen Car Suspect Captured With Aid of Enfield Police Dog
A man suspected of stealing a car early Monday morning crashed the vehicle on Route 190, and was captured nearby shortly thereafter.

ENFIELD, CT — A man suspected of stealing a running car from the driveway of a Route 5 home early Monday morning was captured shortly thereafter, with the aid of a police canine, in the Enfield Industrial Park.
Dongonyaro Boima, 28, was taken into custody by Enfield police near the Comcast building on Phoenix Ave. He was charged with second-degree larceny, interfering with an officer, evading responsibility, engaging police in pursuit and reckless driving.
Around 5:58 a.m., officers responded to a report that a running motor vehicle had been stolen from a home on Enfield St. The criminal act was captured on street cameras, and the car was located on Hazard Ave. a short time later by an officer. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle, but it quickly sped away, police said.

The car was found crashed in a snow bank on Hazard Ave. in front of Red Robin. The suspect was observed by a witness running through the parking lot of Brookside Plaza, and told police. Officers quickly set up a perimeter of the area, and fresh footprints were found in the snow leading into the woods behind the plaza, police said.
A canine unit was called in and conducted a track. While the track was under way, officers called out with a man matching the description of the suspect next to the Comcast building. Canine Nova tracked to the man, and Boima was arrested, police said.
