The Eastern United States Pipe Band Association has officially upgraded the band from Grade V to Grade IV. The celebrated a very successful season this year. SoD entered seven contests throughout the Northeast. The band finished in 1st in six of the contests and 2nd in the seventh (losing only by 2 points). The band also received three "above grade" ratings throughout the year. As a result of the band's performance, the music board of the EUSPBA upgraded the band to Grade IV.
With success comes challenges. This, in short, means that the band has a lot of work to do over the winter months in preparation fro the 2014 season. The band is already hard at work getting ready for the new challenges that lay ahead of them, the first contest is April 5, 2014 (NH).
As the band makes preparations for next season, they are also planning a trip to Glasgow, Scotland in August of 2015. In Scotland the band will take on bands from around the World at the World Pipe Band Championships.
