Symetra's Enfield Employees Give Back During Symetra Week of Service

"This annual tradition gives us a chance to ... make a positive impact in our communities through hands-on service."—Symetra CEO Tom Marra

Wearing bright green ‘Symetra Volunteer’ T-shirts, 48 Symetra employees from the company’s Enfield office took a break from their workday last week to give back to the community — contributing 180 volunteer hours to several local nonprofit organizations as part of the eighth-annual Symetra Week of Service (June 13–17 ).

Working in morning and afternoon shifts, teams of volunteers helped stock shelves at Enfield Food Shelf, prune and weed at Elizabeth Park Conservancy, sort donations at My Sisters' Place, and tackle outdoor gardening tasks at Dakin Humane Society.

“Symetra is recognized as a company with a strong volunteer spirit. While we’re engaged in supporting nonprofits year ‘round, the Symetra Week of Service spotlights our employees’ involvement in and commitment to the communities in which we live and work,” noted Symetra CEO Tom Marra. “This annual tradition gives us a chance to connect with our colleagues, join forces to help our nonprofit partners who do so much good and make a positive impact in our communities through hands-on service.”
