The Week In Town Government
What happened last week and what's ahead in Enfield government.

A brief recap of last week's meetings and what's on tap this week for Enfield's elected bodies.
Town Council
Budget season always means a lot of activity for members of the Town Council, and last week was no exception. After an abbreviated council meeting Monday night, the panel assembled Thursday for a sparsely-attended community conversation with Enfield residents. Saturday brought about a marathon budget session, as the council met with representatives of six different departments: Public Works, police and EMS in the morning, and Social Services, Development Services and the library in the afternoon. The council will hold a special meeting Monday at 6:30 p.m. in the Enfield Room at Town Hall, where it will hear a budget presentation by the Board of Education.

Board of Education
After presenting its budget proposal to the Town Council Monday night, the Board of Education will hold its regular meeting Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Town Hall. The board is expected to make a decision on the selection of a before and after school program provider, which was tabled at the March 22 meeting.
