A brief look at what's in store this week in Enfield government.
Town Council
The Enfield Town Council will meet Monday at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Town Hall, 820 Enfield St. Prior to the regular meeting, at 6:45, the council will conduct a pair of public hearings. The first concerns the sewer use charge rate for 2011-12, while the second is in regards to the proposed transfer of the former Enfield Grange property at 2 Broad Brook Rd. The council will hold budget deliberations Wednesday and Thursday in the Enfield Room at Town Hall, beginning each evening at 6 p.m. On Thursday, the council will receive an update on the state budget from Sen. John Kissel and Reps. Kathy Tallarita and David Kiner; that meeting will be in the Council Chambers at 5:15 p.m.

Board of Education
Members of the school board have been invited to the special Town Council meeting Thursday at 5:15 p.m. in the Council Chambers. Sen. John Kissel and Reps. Kathy Tallarita and David Kiner will present an update on the state budget. The next regular Board of Education meeting will be Tuesday, May 10 at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers.

Inland Wetlands
The Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Agency will meet Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers. Among the agenda items will be a violation of the deposit of material within the Grape Brook Channel to the north of 600 Enfield St.
Planning and Zoning
The Planning and Zoning Commission will meet Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers. Among the agenda items is continuation of a public hearing regarding a special use permit for a contractor's yard at 1675 King St.
