Throwback Thursday: Do You Remember...?
A photo and story of a business from Enfield's past.

ENFIELD, CT - In this weekly series, Enfield Patch publishes a photo of a business or landmark in town that is no longer in existence.
This photo, courtesy of Charlie Manzone, was taken around 1977, when the first building in the development known as Smyth Farm Corners opened upon construction of Palomba Drive.
The long-established Smyth Farm Dairy Bar on Hazard Avenue is in the foreground, which is the current home of First Niagara Bank and Liberty Tax Service.
To the north and west of the restaurant is the first new strip of business condos, containing, among others, Forsman and Francia Realty. Other buildings were later added to the parcel, which now consists of five structures extending to Cranbrook Boulevard.
At the bottom left is Enfield Ford, which had recently been renamed from the previous Fenton Ford.
The vacant land on the right side of the photo now consists of the Big Y Plaza and Rite-Aid Pharmacy.
Enfield Patch invites readers to share their memories in the comments section below.
