Throwback Thursday: Do You Remember...?

A photo and story of a business from Enfield's past.

ENFIELD, CT — In this weekly series, Enfield Patch publishes a photo of a business or landmark in town that is no longer in existence.

Today we take a look inside the former Old Country Buffet in Brookside Plaza. The occasion in this photo was a pajama breakfast outing by the Red Hat Society, circa 2005.

Old Country Buffet changed its name to Hometown Buffet in the mid-2000s, but closed many of its locations, including Enfield, upon filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2007. The lone remaining Hometown Buffet in Connecticut is on Slater Street in Manchester.

In early 2012, the Brookside Plaza space was occupied by the Hibachi Grill, which closed within a year. The space remained vacant until Staples moved next door earlier this year; a T.J. Maxx recently opened in the former Staples storefront.

Enfield Patch invites readers to share memories in the comments section below.
