Throwback Thursday: Do You Remember...?

An old advertisement and story of a business from Enfield's past.

ENFIELD, CT — In this weekly series, Enfield Patch remembers a business or landmark in town that is no longer in existence.

We continue the format of this column we recently instituted: old advertisements from local businesses in some 1960s-1980s Enfield and Fermi high school yearbooks and early-1960s to mid-1980s telephone directories and newspapers.

Today we go back more than three decades to a Fermi High School yearbook ad for Colonial Camera. Tom Panaccione operated his business in town for many years, offering photography, processing and equipment repairs. The majority of his tenure was located at 375 Enfield Street, next to McDonald's and Dairy Queen and across from the Brainard School.

Since Colonial Camera left Enfield Street many years ago, the site has been home to a variety of businesses, and has been vacant for quite some time. 360 Federal Credit Union now occupies the former McDonald's site, and Dairy Queen remains.

Enfield Patch invites readers to share their memories in the comments section below.
